General Motors Company Warranty Policy

General Motors STINKS!

Photos of peeled paint.

Peeled paint and repaired spots.

(Poor Quality)
(No concern for their customers)

I own a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.  It is a beautiful truck.  It is white on top and bright red on the lower half of the truck.  The truck now has 75,000 miles on it.

Paint on this truck started pealing off in numerous places.  The areas are about the size of a hand.

I contacted General Motors and requested that they fix the paint defect.  Their response was insulting.

They recognize that there was a paint problem with their trucks.  They offer a warranty to fix the problem but limit it to trucks that are less than 10 years old and with less than 100,000 miles.

This truck was kept in the garage and was not driven on the highway for the last 10 years as is shown by the miles on the truck.  Because we took such good care of the truck, the defect did not shown up until last year.

General Motors claimed that if the paint lasted 10 years then we must have done something to damage the paint!

How is it that a company can manufacture a product with a defect and then decide that it will only fix the defect for a given time.  The defect is still there and they know it is there.

What they are really saying is that if you haven't purchased a new vehicle from them then you are not entitled to have them fix the manufacturing defects in their products!!!
